葛飾北斎「春画」木版画復刻プロジェクト・ステージ２して、漫画・木彫・映像・パフォーマンス・写真・現代美術など、さまざまなジャンルの現代アーティストたちによる「春画」をモチーフとした作品展示会「nuranura展2019」を2018年に続き今年は２会場と規模を拡大し開催致します。
ゴッホ、モネ、ロートレックなど19世紀のヨーロッパの印象派の画家たちに多大なる影響を与えた浮世絵は、今なお国内外問わず、多数の愛好家を生み出す日本を代表する伝統美術。中でも、絵師、彫師、摺師の三位一体の協力体制から生まれる浮世絵木版画において、彫師・摺師の技術が非常に繊細で高度と言われているのが「春画」です。美人画や武者絵と異なり、男女が絡み合う様子は、非常に複雑かつ繊細な技術が求めらもので「葛飾北斎という江戸時代のみならず日本史を代表するアーティストを介すことで春画の魅力を幅広く伝えていきます。
現代アートの社会的意義と春画に内在するパワーは、”タブーへの挑戦による新たな価値観の創造や感性レベルの許容を広げる”点において親和性を持っており、本展示においてそれが表現できればと考えています。現代アーティストのクロスオーバーした作品を是非お楽しみ下さい。

To commemorate the publication of the Katsushika Hokusai "SHUNGA" woodblock print project and the separate volume "Hokusai Haruka" publication, "SHUNGA" by contemporary artists of various genres such as Japanese painting, woodcarving, video, performance, painting, photography and contemporary art Continuing from 2018, the exhibition “nuranura exhibition 2019” with the motif will be held with two venues and expanded this year.
Ukiyo-e, which had a great influence on 19th century European impressionists such as Van Gogh, Monet, and Lautrec, is still a traditional art that represents many Japanese enthusiasts. Among them, in Ukiyo-e woodblock prints born from the trinity of painter, sculptor, and surishi, the art of sculptor and surishi is said to be very delicate and sophisticated. Unlike beautiful paintings and samurai paintings, men and women entangle with each other because they require extremely complex and delicate techniques. I want to convey it widely.
The social significance of contemporary art and the power inherent in spring paintings have an affinity in terms of “creating new values by taking on the challenge of taboos and broadening the sensitivity level” and if this can be expressed in this exhibition I think. Please enjoy crossover works with contemporary artists.
